#1 New York Times, USA Today, and internationally bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout returns to the universe of the Lux in this brand new series, featuring beloved characters both new and old. goodreads
 My Thoughts
I was given a copy for review from the publisher through Net Galley.
This is a brand new trilogy in the same world as the Lux series. This one takes place after the events of the Lux series, and involves a familiar character or two. This trilogy will follow a new breed of being called Origins that are bred from Luxen and mutated humans that are more powerful than Luxen.

When Evie meets Luc at a club known to be a hangout for Luxen. Luc does not make a good impression. In fact, I was wanting to give up on this book if the love interest was going to be this much of a jerk. If you are a fan of Hate to Love trope then this book may be for you. As the story unfolds you realize Luc's true character.

The plot of this book was really great. At first, it started out like any typical YA novel. Once you get into the book a bit the pace becomes lightning fast, and there are twists and revelations a plenty.

After reading The Darkest Star I think that the Origin series will be a satisfying read for fans of the Lux series. It is also enjoyable for those new to the world as well. I would recommend this book for those who would enjoy a fast paced YA story about aliens living on Earth.

My Rating: 3.5 stars

Swarm: Replugged Book Review by James Flynn

Title: Swarm: Replugged Author: James Flynn Genre: Science Fiction Published Originally 2/1/2021 by the author, now with an new revised edition. Thank you to the author for providing a copy for review. In the second edition of Swarm, the city of Rachton is riddled with crime. A victim of crime, Eric Trammel, has turned to a life in the GLC to help fight against the criminals ruining his city. The answer the GLC comes up with is a new prison where prisoners can by connected to a hive mind to harvest their consciences to create answers to their hardest questions.  Swarm: Replugged is a great science fiction thought experiment of the possibilities of the human mind as well as the consequences of harvesting it. I read both editions of this book at the same time to compare. There are a lot of revisions that make the prose tighter though I really enjoyed both versions. Eric Trammel is a great sympathetic character to follow the story of best intentions gone wrong. I really enjoyed...

Jade Daniels is back in Don't Fear the Reaper after 4 years away. This time around there is an escaped serial killer on the loose in the aftermath of a terrible blizzard.  Jade and Dark Mill South are both super unforgettable indigenous characters. Dark Mill South is on a rampage of revenge. He is such an imposing antagonist. Jade has grown a lot in the last 4 years through trauma. She no longer wants to live a slasher, because she has already been through one. She will have to utilize her boundless knowledge of the genre against such a formidable opponent.  Small town Idaho in a freezing cold blizzard creates a fantastic backdrop for a whole bucket load of carnage. There was a frozen lake, mountains of snow, depending on snowmobiles to get around. I could feel the cold on every page. It...
