Black Cranes: Tales of Unquiet Women is a Bram Stoker and Shirley Jackson Award winning anthology from 2020 featuring all Southeast Asian authors and editors. Now it has been republished by the wonderful Raw Dog Screaming Press.  Stories in this anthology take on topics such as the demands put on Southeast Asian women to be the perfect daughter, wife, and mother. A House With Good Bones by T. Kingfisher

Title: A House With Good Bones Author: T. Kingfisher Genre: Horror Published: 3/28/23 By TOR Nightfire I recieved a copy for review through NetGalley.  When Sam Montgomery returns home for an extended stay she immediately notices that her mom is not acting like herself, and things around the house have changed. Mom is scared, and Sam needs to find out why.  This southern gothic is a really great family drama with plenty of creepy moments. I flew through this book a lot faster than most. This is because the characters were wonderful and the story was told in a very witty and gripping way. This story perfectly points out the darker side of the most perfect seeming family. I highly recommend this book to those who want a creepy story tackling a family's dark past. My Rating: 4.25 stars out of 5

The Tyranny of Faith by Richard Swan

Title: The Tyranny of Faith Series: Empire of the Wolf Book 2 Author: Richard Swan Genre: Epic Fantasy Published: February 14,2023 by Orbit Thank you to Orbit and NetGalley for providing a copy for review. I really liked The Justice of Kings last year following Helena as she trains with Justice Vonvalt while traveling the empire and solving a mystery. In Book 2 of the series, the unforgettable band of heroes are facing an empire in turmoil. This story is full of political intrigue and political unrest. It was completely enthralling and was even better that the first installment. I recommend this book to fans of epic fantasy stories with great character development. Now the ever difficult wait for the third book. My Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
